Windows may warn on first run. The installer is not code-signed yet, so SmartScreen shows “Windows protected your PC”. Click More info → Run anyway. If that makes you uneasy, wait for the Microsoft Store version — it is signed by Microsoft and installs without any warning. Coming shortly.
The plain Linux binary needs three system libraries. The RPM installs them for you; the bare file does not. Install webkit2gtk-4.1, gtk3 and libsoup3 — on Arch sudo pacman -S webkit2gtk-4.1 gtk3 libsoup3, on Debian/Ubuntu sudo apt install libwebkit2gtk-4.1-0 libgtk-3-0 libsoup-3.0-0. Without them the program stops before it starts, and cannot say why.
Arch: install the package with sudo pacman -U mlcterm.pkg.tar.zst. It declares its dependencies, so pacman pulls webkit2gtk-4.1, gtk3 and libsoup3 for you. There is no AUR entry yet, so updates are not automatic — download the new file and run the same command.
RPM is GPG-signed. To install without a NOKEY warning, first import the public key: sudo rpm --import https://mlcgo.eu/downloads/mlcterm/mlcterm-pubkey.asc
